women’s health and wellness companies

We’ve been through a lot in the past few years. And we’ve learned just how vital wellness is to our lives. Women everywhere know that taking care of your mind, body, and spirit is essential to true happiness. Life continues to present many challenges to women, but there are many women’s health and wellness companies committed to helping us prioritize our well-being.

Kalon Staffing and Executive Search is a woman-owned health and wellness organization. So, we wanted to shine the light on some of our favorite women-owned health and wellness companies. This list is definitely not complete and is unranked. They are just some of the companies that inspire us, but we definitely appreciate every single one of the women-owned health and wellness companies in the space!

Shining a Light on Women in the Health and Wellness Industry

As a member of Women in Nutraceuticals, I’m aware of the uphill climb for females in nutraceuticals and all health and wellness sectors. In nutraceuticals alone, there is a 20% pay gap and only 86 women to every 100 men are promoted to first-level manager jobs. By empowering each other, we can close those gaps. With this list, we want to give recognition to some of the most inspiring females in the health and wellness space.

Body Complete Rx

Owner: Samia Gore

About the Business:

Founder Samia Gore watched many of her family members suffer through various ailments, including heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. Instead of going down the same path, she chose to re-write the story for herself by taking better care of herself inside and out. During this time, Samia sought out plant-based supplements to address her personal needs. Samia couldn’t find what she needed, so she turned to her friend, Dr. Ruby Lathon (a certified holistic nutritionist), to create formulas that would work for her and people with similar narratives. Body Complete Rx provides supplements for everyone but also focuses on the specific needs of women of color. The business focuses on complete, comprehensive wellness.

Kuli Kuli

Owner: Lisa Kurtis

About the Business:

During her time working with female farmers in Niger, West Africa, Lisa Kurtis learned about moringa. Moringa is a super green that is said to have more nutritional value than kale. For example, moringa has 20 times more calcium than kale! Lisa learned about moringa’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, protein, calcium, iron, and fiber benefits. She wanted to share the power of superfoods with America and empower women farmers across the globe, leading to the creation of Kuli Kuli. And her mindset is just as powerful as moringa. On her journey to launch Kuli Kuli, she encountered “no” many times. She took every “no” as a “not yet” and kept those who turned her away updated on her progress. One investor who said “no” years ago ended up investing $2M into Kuli Kuli.

Peak + Valley

Owner: Nadine Joseph

About the Business:

Back in 2015, Nadine Joseph was a neuroscience researcher experiencing the symptoms of chronic stress. Her schedule was hectic, to say the least, but even after she found balance in her schedule, her symptoms lingered. Having a holistic approach, thanks to her mom, she started looking for a solution via natural remedies. Investing months of research to find the right answers, she found botanicals that would play a major role in the company’s signature blends for stress relief. Nadine even travels the world to source all the herbs herself, as mindful resourcing is one of the company’s primary values.
